When is the last time they orbited something?

SpaceX orbited their capsule last year (on their own rocket no less) and Boeing has orbited already as well and is currently orbiting their second vehicle (which could potentially be scaled up for manned flight)

edit: some clarification

LM orbits stuff, all the time.

ETA: The inside baseball I've heard on the Orion was NASA project mismanagement run amok. For example, a major redesign at a late stage to include a second microwave in the capsule.

they orbit satellites and such but nothing for potential human occupancy which in that case only SpaceX has any type of claim to fame as the Dragon, while unmanned in its maiden flight, is purposely designed to carry people.
