wouldn't a zombie combat uniform be resistant to bites? - e.g. a suit that is difficult for zombie scratches, bites, etc. Human teeth and fingers aren't the best for penetration of heavily clothed coated ballistic nylon or a carbon fiber chain-mail . With some sort of face & neck armor - they could paw at you all day long and not "infect" you or tear off limbs easily.
I've often wondered why in zombie films the combat uniforms are body chest armored style as if zombies would shoot at you. You'd think someone would have improvise a bite suit uniform.
No worry anyhow, if Zombies don't take in water ( I never see one with an Aquafina bottle) , they will evaporate to dryness in a few days.

I would think that the same survival instincts that drive them to eat human flesh would also give them the drive to drink water.
As far as light armor why not leather? A leather biker jackets and chaps would go a long way against human teeth and nails. If the pair of shotgun chaps I ride horses in can turn jumping cholla, zombies don't stand a chance of getting through.
