My grandmother recently passed away, and in the process of cleaning out her house, I found these items, my great grandfather was a Mason it seems.
It looks pretty neat, can any arfcomers tell me the signifigance?

Looks like you have the following:

2 Royal Arch Mason coins––-Self explanatory
2 Shriners pins––-1with a white rose, the other is small and white
1 Shriners tie pin––-Same symbol but on the square item
1 Blue Lodge ring––-Self explanatory
1 Order of Eastern Star pin––-Star shaped pin with multi colored points(Women only)
1 Rainbow Girls pin––-Pin with a rainbow on it(younger women)
3 items that I'm not sure of.

Hope that helps some.

+1 to shootingmonkey.

definitely something to keep and pass down the family.

The Royal Arch coins hold a significant "personal" value and really should be kept. (as well as the rest..)

So were the coins like "Challenge" coins of sorts?

Thanks guys! Looks like my great grandmother was involved as well I'd guess.

I'll lock it up in the safe and hand it down to my children.

the one with the rose is a Daughters of the Nile pin. http://www.daughtersofthenile.com/about_who.htm

I am in PA and here men are allowed to be part of the Eastern Stars, so its possible that they did that together.

the cross with the cane is a White Shrine pin. http://www.supremeshrine.org/index.html

your grandparents were very involved in the craft and you should be proud.

the Rainbow pin is the Worthy Adviser pin. The WA is the equivalent to the Worshipful Master in the Lodge. The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls dates back to 1922 and was started by the Rev Mark W Sexton (sp?) so that young ladies could have an organization that teaches the same values as the Masons, OES and DeMolay. I would highly recommend both DeMolay and IORG for any young man or young lady, I can not speak about Jobs Daughters as i have never been involved with them but I would also assume that they share in the same values and teachings.
If the pin was your grandmothers then it meant that she served the Assembly as Worthy Adviser at a time when the organization was very large and it would have been a great honor.

My apologies for the misinformation on the daughters of the nile and the rainbow pin. I am a little unfamiliar with those two groups.

Is there a reason that Arfcom does not recognize the logo of the National Honor Society?

Sheesh.

Check one of those Royal Arch coins, may have engraving on it?
If it does, It would be your grandfather's personal Mark(symbol) he created. Like Knight-Mason said; It should be kept for personal value.

Theyre not engraved, but none the less, I will always keep and cherish them as a part of my rich family history, and I'll have to look into the Masons myself now!

That is great to hear!
It is worth looking into. It's a worthwhile organization of friends & brothers. It also teaches valuable lessons in life.
