What's the most you've ever won in a lottery, raffle or other contest?
To be clear, the question is about winning as a result of "chance" and not a skill based contest..
I won this in one of the monthly newsletter contests.
$3,000 in value
Very nice!!
$62 in the Texas Lotto.
$5
I won two cakes in cake walk contest in 1st grade. They weren't that good so the value wasn't very much.

You reported it as income and paid Uncle Sam right?

Made $1,200 in a craps game in Vegas a few weeks ago. The shooter rolled 13 points at a $5 table. Had he rolled for even a minute or two longer that amount would be double. I was pressing it up big time each step of the way. When he rolled out, I probably had $400 on a table (started with $15). I guess that's the best I've ever done.
I won $25,000 in a (random drawing) contest last year.
I also won $800, a years supply of Omaha Steaks ($1000), and a bunch of smaller prizes last year.
This year I haven't had much luck so far.

I went skiing awhile back at Tahoe and a few miles before the cabin we stopped to get beer. I don't know what made me buy a scratcher but I did. After buying my beer and waiting for the guys I scratched it. I won something like 75 bucks, walked back in and turned that into more beer. That trip had no shortage of beverages.

Actually one can have a clear understanding of the meaning of "1 in 170 million" and still purchase a ticket just for fun.
