Looking for a BUG preferably 9mm. I plan to carry it IWB, weak side under my duty belt so thin and small is a must. Kel-tec pf9, one of the Kahrs, Rugar LC9, something else? Looking for suggestions.

you named all the reasonably priced options out there. I'd lean towards an all steel kahr, just because I'm a cumpulsive worrier and would hate to put alot of sideways pressure on a plastic framed auto with the slide possibly pulling/pushing on the metal inserts sideways in the frame for extended/repeated carry cycles.

FYI: I tried this set up after reading about some officers doing it. It was "meh" for my tastes. I could really feel the difference between regular IWB carry and IWB carry when used under a duty belt. It was annoying, and depending on your set up, the bottom of your vest may push the top of your back up pistol down, or push it out if the but of the pistol rests on the outside of the bottom of your vest. Another thing is try it seated in your patrol car, depending on how much gear you have on your belt and where its at it may just push your duty belt out enough on your "carry side" to make it noticeable (uncomfortable) when seated.

YMMV

I toyed with carrying a BUG under my duty belt. Didn't like it.

I carry a Kahr PM9 in a pocket holster on my off-hand side now. Its light enough that I don't even notice it anymore. I like having it in my pocket, because I can have my hand on it, and no one is the wiser.

Before I started doing pocket carry, I carried it on my vest.

I'm not opposed to pocket carry. I was just going to try something different. I used to carry a Glock 26 in a pocket holster because it was the only small gun we could carry. Now I want something much smaller. Looking for suggestions.

Kahr is fine, but I ended up with a subcompact of my duty gun. Mag interchanges and it makes quals much easier.

I use the underbelt on the weakside.

I have the Kahr PM9 with night sights and it is a great compact weapon. It has had no issues with any HP ammo fed through it. Surprisingly accurate for small weapon. Good luck with your choice but in my opinion the Kahr will serve you well.

Walther PPS or the Beretta Nano is getting good reviews.
