on your tac vests?

Looking to build a "cheap" tac vest to keep with the rifle. I don't need a cross draw, but AR mag and pistol mag pouches are a plus. I would already have the essentials on my belt, and will be for first responder only. what are some other pouches/equipment to have on the molle? i found this for a base, but like i said, i don't need the cross draw....

If you are looking for an active shooter type setup there are many deals to be had on Hard Plates and basic carriers. If you dont want the plates you could go with any quality MOLLE vest really.

As far as what to carry IMHO I would at least look for three magazines for the rifle, two for your pistol, extra cuffs or flex cuffs, a stout knife for prying, breaking and cutting stuff etc (need not be large just durable), a care under fire kit and some chem lights (to mark rooms or suspicous bags or packages).
I am assuming your agency tactics are to arrive and the first officers on scene will make entry or deal with the problem. I would want to be light weight and fast and not hindered by extra crap.
You may want to look into a bail out bag for additional supplies, i would look to at least add a multi purpose pouch for some bottled water or a hydration carrier in case the situation went on for some time.

If you want something hold your mags, chest rigs are pretty cheap and effective.
If you want hard armor, you are going to have to define "cheap".

What are you gonna be using it for? Just to throw on for an active shooter?
