You realize this is a Huffington spin piece to deflect the stupid Obama comment about the private sector being fine, right?

Listen to the speech. Bang on. No problems with Romney's speech.

But the headline makes it sound like HE is out of touch. Yup, Huff-Post bias and probable troll.

Hope the troll likes the GOP in charge come 2013.

At the worst, BHO's "money for teachers, cops and firemen" would be a single payment dumped into the slush General Fund of the states or municipalities, with no accountability, meaning more freebies for elected officials and more shaft for folks in the classrooms and on the streets.

At best it would be like the Clinto era COPS grants - a 5 year decreasing amount grant intended to allow the AHJ to absorb the cost of the employee.

The thing is the same problem will occur as did under Clinton - the only time there will actually be "extra" of any position will be the first, fully funded year. Employees in those categories will simply fill spots created by attrition, and by the end of year 3-6 the department will be back to the same personnel numbers.

And the biggest difference? Clinton at least had the idea to create and administer the grant when the economy was in a positive cycle, not as more "spend our way into prosperity" bullsh*t.
