anyone file a delayed claim against VA
I'm now having a problem with a bone spur in my C5 & 6 vertabrae pushing on
a nerve;causing me to walk goofy & other minor nerve issues.
I crewed Hueys for +15 years in the reserves; have +2500 hours in my flight record as 67N20.
anyone heard of this with other former crewchief's? I haven't talked with the
neurologists yet, so I'm not sure they can state that may have been/is the cause.
I got my 20 year letter in 98-99, so I've been out for while; haven't had any neck/spine trauma,
ridden bulls or motorcycles/mountain bikes or any othe lifestyle choice that could be
blamed.
any help or website links would be much help. thanks
Yes it is not too late to get your benefits. I know a couple of doctors in the VA who are still getting new disability examination referrals from Vietnam veterans and later finding out that the veterans have been given a disability rating. To begin this process, obtain a copy of your service medical record and consider talking to a veteran advocate. There are forums for disabled vets, volunteer organizations, sleazy lawyers, and even VA (.gov employees) "Veteran's Benefits Specialists" where you can find information on how to get started.
My old man ended up getting a rating recently from his time in the Navy back in the 70's. He has some skin and neurological stuff start showing up and he was able to link it to mixing chemicals for spraying down in gitmo.
