For the first time in eight years, National Geographic reports, you can now see the five planets that are visible with the naked eye in one night.
According to NatGeo, the “classical naked-eye planets”, which are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, have not all been visible in the same night since 2004. Not only will these planets be visible all in one night — although not necessarily at the same time or in the same view — if you miss it one night you’ll be able to catch it in another, as the quintet will be around night after night for the next several days.

There's also an I phone app that shows this stuff. Mars and Saturn were visible last week, and on one evening, they and the moon were in a nice straight line, so to speak.. Mercury might be visible, depending on where you are just after sunset today, with Venus and Jupiter being very visible prior to moon rise.
Really cool. Thanks for sharing.

You bet! Last couple weeks they've been in perfect alignment with cresent moon several times. Awesome view of Venus (the brightest), then Jupiter, Moon, then Mars, off the the south east is Saturn. Think I'll take a ride up to teh local astronimy club for a better view through the big Tele's. One thing I haven't seen all year, are meteors.

Awesome!
Need to try and get a better moons shot.
Got this one a few years ago with my canon 20d and just a plain 300mm lens.
