 New Bowhunter Here...Question on sights

Ok..I have to admit my complete newbness with my new bow that I purchased. My only defense is that I have never been a bowhunter, so I'm just learning the ropes on this.

I have a peep site in the string, with 3 pins in the site. What is the correct site picture that I should be using with the peep, to the outside ring on the site and then finally to the pins?

Thanks guys...any visuals would be helpful.

Also, what yardages do you guys normally set your pins at?

I recommend that you choose a peep with a diameter that will just barely frame the outer ring of the sight guard. Then all you need to do is center the ring inside the peep, and use the correct pin for the distance. Do not attempt to center each pin in the peep, but rather the sight guard itself. I'd recommend sighting the pins at 20, 30, and 40 yards respectively.

I like my peep size to match the ring of the sight so I can "overlay" it easy, then the pin on the target.

I sighted in this way from the get-go without knowing if it was the correct way or not.

So, when I heard this question a couple years ago, I was wondering if I'd been doing it wrong.

M4Madness' answer is the one I've heard most often as the correct method and I was glad to know that I wouldn't have to correct a bad habbit...

This year I am running 2 pins. One at 20 yards and the other at 40 yards. Since I got my Mathews I didnt notice a need for 30 yard pin as there wasnt alot of drop between 20 an 30

For what its worth
