You bet. My wife caught one just the other day in Lake Beresford on the St Johns river.

I saw them all the time when I managed a pet shop but they were the teacup stingrays from the Amazon

Pretty cool. How'd you get it off the hook w/o being stung? Did it try to sting you?

Not many rays here in MI!

I tried to get the hook out but ended up just cutting the line.

that would be the atlantic ray. it can live in freshwater, but truely thrives in brackish or salt water.



there are many species of true freshwater stingrays. south america, africa, and asia all have species. in fact, the largst freshwater fish caught on rod and reel was a giant stingray from the mekong river.
