Finally got a stove!
I was always the cheapass that would mess with the fire to make a spot for my coffee. Well, I finally got a stove, and am impressed so far. Optimus Crux––$40 at Cabbelas.
It has nice flame control, a nice base, and an adorable fold-up design. Time will tell how it holds up, but I'm pretty happy out of the box with it. I was considering the MSR Pocket Rocket (dig the hard case), but I found that my canteen cup (or anything for that matter) didn't fit well on the burner arms. This base is a little more flat, and has good serrations for holding just about anything well.
Anyone else have this model? What are your experiences with it?

Any idea what the burn time on a tank is? Looks like a nice little outfit.

According to the manual, on full "power", you get about 2.5 hours on an 8oz tank. Not too shabby. Then again, everywhere online is saying 60 minutes on full power for an 8oz tank. So I guess figure somewhere in the middle on that.
I've never seen one of those before. Looks like a real handy little stove. I've got some Cabela's points to burn and that might be my next purchase. Thanks for sharing!
i just got the jetboil one with the cup. plan on using it next weekend on a snowmobile trip in norther nh. i ll let you know how it works
Nice!
I have a coleman 533 that I love. Mine is liquid fuel, but I'm thinking of getting a propane stove as well.
HTR.
Nice little stove ––I too have the jetboil stove
I use a Jetboil also, but that looks like a nice little stove.
For many years I have been using a UK model Peak1 Coleman with an integral heat exchanger. It looks like yours but with 4 arms instead of three. I has worked well in sub-freezing temps. I like the one you have there...let us know how it does in the cold.
Depending on what i'm making.... I use either a Jet Boil or a Pocket Rocket.
The Crux is a great stove. It has been my primary for backpacking for about 4 years. I've never had a problem. The burn time is awesome. No problem boiling with this stove. It really gets it done. Ya gotta watch the size of pan/pot though, as it can be kinda unstable in the dirt...but no biggie.
