Title says it all. I am looking for a good rod, and real setup for my BOB.
What say you.

I use an Ice Fishing rod and reel I picked up at Boater's World. I cna cast the crap out of the thing sidehanded. I spool it with PowerPro which gives you some nice cordage as well for your BOB

It's in this pic leaning against my hiking staff:

5 piece shakespear 4'6" backpacking rod 2oz
Shimano TX500fa 5oz
Assorted trout lures and stringer, all for a total under 1lb

The rod for being $15 has lasted me 4 summers of backpacking and numerous other fishing trips where i used it just for fun.. used to fish saltwater going after spotted bay bass with it running 4lb test.. now that was FUN.

Where did you buy your rod? What is the model number? Is this the same one?
Shakespeare® Travel Mate™ Pack Rods Thanks!
I bought the rod today at the local sporting goods store. It was $16.99 + tax. It's not too bad. What's the best way to store and carry these rods?
Check out the cabelas pack rods. I have both and they are very sensitive and work well - despite being 4 pieces.

BTW - I suffer from F.T.A.D. (fishing tackle aquisition disorder)
I have not used any of these, but Shakespeare has quite a few pack rods and kits.

I have a Browning Safari. It comes in a protective tube and sleeve. It was $100 from either BassPro or Cabelas. It's a great rod. I had a BassPro Microlite that snapped after getting it snagged. I only had 4 lb test on it and my drag was pretty light(definitely less than 4 lbs).
