I spent alot of my youth fishing starting with bamboo rods and then into spinning reels etc..That all stopped about the time I discovered girls and when I finally started again I fell into Fly Fishing which I still love. Its has been years since I have had any desire to go back to a spinning rod but I now have a 2 year old running around who I am sure would love to go and I of course would love to take him. The problem is that Fly Fishing is years away and neither of us can wait that long.
That leads me to where I am at. I went to Dicks today and got a 4-6 wt. Shimano Rod/Reel combo and some 6wt Trilene. Now I am stuck. We will be fishing the local ponds and lakes from a canoe and shore (mostly shore for obvious reasons) for the usual, Bass, Bluegill and the occasional trout.
I need to put together a general use tackle box and have no idea where to start. I need a setup from scratch. Anyone willing to throw together a list for us?
1/32nd oz tube jig kit + some casting bubbles. Will take panfish, crappie, bass or even trout.
Rig up for fishing flies with spinning gear (casting bubble again). A small/medium wooly bugger will take any of the above.
Any of the above will catch ***something*** on nearly every body of water in my state. For lakes/ponds with panfish, usually something hits on every cast.

I have a question (from a guy in a similar situation). What is a fishing bubble? I already have spinning equipment for me and my kids, but my oldest has all of a sudden taken a liking to fly fishing. I am going to be getting a off the shelf "fly fishing package" from Bass Pro shops next month and we will see how that goes before we get more serious gear.
Thanks,
Indy
