Is it any different from any other 12v smart charger? Do you recommend anything in particular?
you can select the type, and it does matter to a degree.

Thanks Zoe, but I think that's a little overkill!
Battery Tender or Battery tender JR seems to be the golden standard of SLA trickle chargers.
I used a Schumacher, and it works, but the battery tender JR does charge the voltage a little higher.
ETA: Can be found at Batteries Plus, Pepboy's, West Marine, Bass Pro Shops

Thanks.
I also found this one:
Battery Junction I am trying to charge two (soon 4) 28AHR SLA batteries so I will need the higher current.
BTW, Battery junction is a great company. I have been buying from them for years and they have never disappointed me.
I use a AA engineering for actually charging. For maintaining I buy the cheapo harbor freight maintainers.
I've been float charging a Deka solar gel cell battery for about 4 years now using an Iota Engineering Smart Charger.
The Iota doubles as a 75 amp power supply as well...when I have 'shore-power'.
