I wired my CB into my factory fuse panel and got horrible electrical thru the CB speaker. I then ran dedicated wire straight to battery and still have it. Will the above item solve this problem?

What are you using for a ground? Is tue noise constant or does it go up and down as you rev the motor?

It grounded to the metal dash board. The noises goes up and down with revs.

I have always found it best to wire straight to the battery the pos and neg.

would it matter or make a noise issue.

There have been times that I have cured noise problems with CBs by wiring them to the battery, however thats not always the fix. The circuitry in a CB is not top of the line and cheaper models do not filter noise as good.

The fact that it is going up and down as you rev the motor means that your alternator is getting back to your radio.

Have you checked the rotor and distributor cap? I've noticed that on GMs it'll make a fair amount of electrical noise when they're starting to get worn....and the noise goes up and down in response to rpm.

Remove the antenna lead and tell us if the noise is still there...if so then the noise is coming in thru the DC cable and a noise filter should get rid of it.
If the noise goes away then its coming in thru the antenna system and you will need to fix whatever it is making the noise.

Different types of noise will make different sounds. Ignition noise is generally a buzzing or rapid popping sounds. A whining sound is the alternator. These two sources will vary with engine RPM.
