im looking for a flip open type of red light filter for a weapon mounted white light. it is for night varminting. i was thinking something along the lines of the butler creek style of scope covers, but with a red lens. does anything like this exist?

edit, found this....any opinions?

or is there a cheap type of varmint light like this that will mount to a rail?

I know it's not what you are asking but it seems like the red led lights are what guys are having the best luck with.

Sheet of Roscolux #27 or Lee #106 and some gaffer's tape.

What distance? In my experience the red filter doesn't work all that well for throw, unless you're running a 12v spotlight.

You might try a red LED P60 style drop in for Surefire G/C/P series:

yea. really ya gotta hit places that folk's kill furry things in big numbers. Then read up! Predatormasters. is a big site! lot's of info!

this dang light stuff moves so fast nowadays it's hard to keep up with. I changed to a green bulb setup last year. hawg/hog hunter/killer? $139.00. pretty decent light.

I have some lights with tinted type butler creek scope protectors. It cuts the throw way down as posted above.
