I'm in the desert. Some brush, shots from 50 yards to 300 yards.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
TIA

If shooting at small varmints, I'd get something with magnification.

theres a reason the 3-9 power scope is so popular.

I have a Nikon Coyote Special and it's it's nice. I also have a 1x4 counter sniper which I used on it before. Either is fine but if you want close to far then the 1x4 would be the best I think. That way close shots you are already zeroed for unless you want to guesstimate the range and adjust.

3x9 is a good compromise. I have a 1.5-4 Leupold on the gun I'm taking deer hunting this year. Shots can be anywhere from 25 yards to 300 where I hunt. We'll see how that works out.

I like the Nikon 3x9 mounted on a Burris PEPR.

Thanks guys. I ordered a Leupold 3X9X40 VX-R ballistic. Hope to have it mounted for this weekends coyote contest.

How did you do with the new scope and the dog hunt?

3-9x50 Leupold. I always recommend the 50mm because it gives you a big field of view. This can come in handy when acquiring a running target. Its not a real big price difference between the 40mm's and the 50's anyway. Plus the 50's look cooler

My coyote gun uses a Burris fulfield II 3-9 mounted in a LaRue

I also use this one Burris Tac 30 1-4 soon to get a LaRue mount

I have a couple Nightforce 2.5-10x24s I use and love em. Usually keep them at 2.5x.

I bet a Leupold MK4 SPR 1.5-5x24 would be good too.
