I am in Ohio and looking to make up to 8 hour drive next spring to hunt hogs for the first time. I assume that each state has different laws regarding which rifle configurations are permissible (caliber, mag capacity). Is this correct?
Where can I find a comprehensive list of states that allow .223 caliber semi-auto rifles with high cap mags?
Any personal recommendations within 8 hours of Ohio?

Your better off going to the DFG or DGF (depends on the state) and download their Hunting Digest book. The first few chapters are regulations on what to wear (orange), how much you got to wear, max mag capacity, min rifle/handgun caliber, min energy etc etc. Good luck
