just curious, 5.45x39 anyone tried it?
Cheap ammo, cheap rifles somebody has to have tried it. Just curious how it did.

I've killed a few with 5.45. They've all been from a S&W 16" AR and all with Wolf Military Classic 60gr. I've tried to get one with 7n6, but never found one when I had it loaded. I carry the Wolf loaded in the truck so I don't have to worry about corrosive if I take a pot shot at a hog or a yote.
It performed well, punched a through and through in all cases, but I haven't used it on a monster. If I saw a 250+ pounder I would go for a headshot. Terminally the Wolf is almost identical to M193, it gives a long neck but yaws, and while not particularly devastating it does the job. Then again, I'm not particularly worried if I lose a hog, I just want them dead.
on the AK forum there is a member that used 7n6 for several deer, and although not the same, they all went down
