My biggest pig
I killed this guy at 2AM with a 6.8 topped witha Leupold vxr 2x7 using only moon light. Using the tape measure formula he weighs about 280lbs.
The 110gr Sierra prohunter with 30gr of H335 in the neck did its job. He hit the ground without so much as a flinch.

Way to go, that is a nice hog and a real nice shot, too bad he kept you up so late...

Nice! That's a big one.
Nice - tell me if you guys think this one is legit...?
Massive Feral Hog Caught in Texoma
Looks like a wooly mammoth.
I envy guys like you, I've wanted to go on a hog hunt for a long time now, but not a whole lot of hog hunting up here in good ol' Montucky. :) Lots of everything else, just no hogs!
Good score on that big one and keep after them.
Its a nice hog...no doubt about that, but the guy is trying to play that tired old optical illusion trick by standing 10 feet behind it in the one pic (Pleeeassee).
He states the hog weighed well over 500 lbs. and that he used the tape measure method to determine that (presumably he meant the Heart Girth method).
At the 57" girth measurement he claims that works out to approximately 375 lbs, well short of the weight/size claimed, but I am not surprised.
I find that hog hunters have now surpassed Fishermen in their willingness to embellish the weight of their catch/kill.
Nice boar, arteacher
The boar in the story might weigh 500 lb. If you count the 150 lbs of BS the guy is shoveling.
If he measures 57" heart girth he aint 500 lbs.
i live in the texoma area, but hadnt heard about this. i was just out yesterday on public land where the washita runs into lake texoma and saw hog sign like crazy! i think i just found a new hobby :)
Congrats on the nice hog, wish we had em here in Wisconsin to hunt! I'm going to Oklahoma end of Feb. to hunt, I'd be happy with one like that!

I heard you stole that hog.

......Something about an unloaded rifle.....?
It might be 8' with the back legs stretched out like that but it's not 8' from ass to snout. It's a big one for sure but I don't think it weighed 800lbs.
I remember seeing a pic of a forum member who nailed a hog and had to picked it up with his front loader. My memory is hazy but from what I remember the hog was massive.
