Shipping on small parts...
Any chance these can be thrown in an envelope and mailed?
$13 shipping and handling is a bit much for 3 springs worth $6.95
Agreed!!
CMMG? Anything?
I'm in exactly the same boat - over the weekend I broke the firing pin spring on my CMMG 22 kit (*shrug*, wear and tear, it happens). So I jumped online to get a replacement spring.. put the $1 spring into my shopping cart, hit check-out... and saw $13.00 shipping(!).
After I stopped swearing, I emptied my cart and decided that the upper would just have to sit broken in the safe for the time being. As soon as I come up with enough other things to buy, I'll just add the spring in with the order. Maybe I'll put together an entire spare parts kit or something, i dunno yet.
I just know that I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I paid $13 shipping for a $1 spring.

I guess I'll call them tomorrow and see if a person can answer my question.

They don't have everything, but shipping is reasonable & realistic for small parts.
I bet they would sell more stuff that way, too. I would have bought some spare small parts as well just to have them, but not when I have to pay more in S&H fees than the parts are worth.
I called up and spoke with Kayleigh (sp?) and she told me they could do USPS shipping for $5.
Much better, so I ordered my stuff.

Call 'em in guys!
Please keep discussing this and providing feedback, this is an issue we've been playing around with lately, and from the sound of things we are not done adjusting our shipping and handling.

Sounds like you're well capable of doing it, but your webstore doesn't allow differentiation between UPS and USPS mail stuff.
It would be nice to see the shipping fixed to less rates. I am going to buy the India kit for an upper that I am building but with such charges for small parts......it makes me kinda re-think the idea.
Please fix them....

.
I really want the India kit bad and have been holding out until my tax refunds come.
I did call you guys once after trying to buy a small part or spring that could easlily be thrown in an envelope for 35 cents after trying to order on line..I do understand that you have to pay employees too but the minumum shipping does need to be addressed..You did send it for like 6.00 in the end after talking on the phone but as others say if ordering online there needs to be an option at a lesser rate for small replacement parts..I think it is to a Companys advantage to ship for as reasonable as they possible can..Still love your AR22 stuff though........Thanks

If you're serious about restructuring your shipping costs, take a look at MidwayUSA or Brownell's. They've been able to handle low cost shipping on small parts for years. Even a competitor of yours is able to ship for cheap. I recently read a post on another forum where a guy posted a link for an extractor to fit a CMMG kit. $11 for the extractor and $2 shipping...$13.00...Total.
Thank you for at least being open to discussion and encouraging it.
A little time has passed since this thread, and I wanted to shoot my 22 upper, so I figured I'd go ahead and order that firing pin spring. Since others said you could get USPS shipping for less, I figured I'd order two or three plus a firing pin.
It turns out CMMG redid it all right - now I can't even buy the springs I want. Rather than decrease small part shipping costs, they eliminated the ability to purchase small parts outright. If I buy a pre-selected collection of springs for $13 + shipping, I can get one, but that's the only way. So now instead of $1 each plus $13 shipping, it's now $13 for two (plus other parts I don't need) + the same $13 for shipping. Some improvement.
Well, back into the safe it goes I guess. Sigh.
