I'm considering using an RRA two stage fire control group in a lower which currently has a CMMG 18" .22 cal upper on it. I tried doing a search and could not find anything regarding the RRA. I did find info on the Geissele but I need info on the RRA. I would prefer to hear of anyone's experience before I take the plunge to change out the fire control groups. Can anyone help me specifically with the RRA?

Dude, I've run both of those FCG's and prefer the Geissele for many reasons. But to be specific,
if you are asking about the RRA National Match 2 Stage, it is not a bad product and runs well when
paired with a dedicated .22lr upper. It is also reasonably priced.
Before you make up your mind you need to know that the RRA NM is a tunable group, and you can
get a nice crisp break after VERY CAREFUL fine stoning. But beware, this unit is totally unforgiving
should you screw up. RRA hard surface annodizes (or at least they used to) all of the parts to only a
few thousandths of an inch. Break through that into the softer steel and you will experience
very rapid wear, so much so that 3K to 4K rounds later you will have a mushy, unpredictable let off.
Knowing that rimfire shooters run many thousands of rounds, you probably will be no exception. I've done
trigger jobs on the NM and advise you that, if you go this route, just let it break itself in under normal use.

Hmmm, that's not good. Did RRA make it good or were you S.O.L.? Also, do you think the .22 upper contributed to the failure or was it just a bad hammer?

Dumb old me, steel isn't annodized. These parts are surface hardened, but the rest of the story
is accurate. Sorry for the slip up.
