 ASA testimonial

I purchased a couple of lowers and rifle kits from ASA a Loooong time ago, '99 or so. Prior owner, lots of 'interesting' threads about customer service and disservice back then. The parts were top shelf, and I was local at the time, so I went for it. I built the rifles, found out that I hate 16" HBARs so I sold that one, kept the 24" bull barrel with the idea that I would shoot it competitively someday. Or hunt antelope with it... Maybe.

The last decade has been interesting, I've gone from having an 11.25 acre place in Texas with a rifle range in the back yard to a house in a neighborhood, with a number of stops/states inbetween. Staying employed has taken it's toll. Finally settled, I dragged out that old ASA rifle to get it running and start shooting again. I was getting horrific results, couldn't group into an inch at 25 yards! Tried at the same range with my old Winchester 30-06 and they all went into the same hole, so I figured it wasn't me. The rifle had a 4-12 Tasco and some tall mounts I found, hadn't put any thought into it when I threw those parts on it a decade ago. I thought there might be something wrong with the barrel, and I figured I was screwed because it'd been 10 years... I did find the reciept, though, and figured it wouldn't cost anything to email ASA, at least.

In our email exchange, I told Dan my story. He said 'if it says ASA on it it's warrantied, don't worry about the reciept or anything' and they said they take a look at it if I wanted! Wow! So I took the rifle to them at their new location, they checked it out with the ammo I supplied and with some of their own as well. They pointed out that the scope mounts would MOVE when you pushed on them (Holy Shizzle!!! Look at THAT!) and they had gotten excellent performance out of the barrel/rifle. And they didn't charge me anything for checking it out!!!

Since then I replaced the mounts and scope with useful items. Tried some different ammo, finally got some actual match ammo to try (BVAC 69 grain) and yea, it works ok. On a breezy day out in the desert I shot a 5/8" 5 shot group, and that includes the round I called as a flyer.

Summary: after a decade and an owner change, ASA still stood behind their product. They took the time to check out my rifle and gently showed me where I had stooged it up. When I got my act together, the rifle performed very well indeed.

Thanks, ASADan and the guys at American Spirit Arms. And I thought the 'American Spirit' thing was just a name...

Thanks for the kind words.
In this business, more often than not the only thing that is going to set manufacturers apart from each other is customer service and the product we offer.
We are 100% confident in our product both old and new.

I am glad we could be of help and glad that your rifle is running well again.
Please feel free to call or email anytime if we can be of any further assistance.

Dan's great people to work with. I sent my upper to get serviced as well, and although things kind of got gray for awhile, Dan tried to make things right. I'm sorry I was short with you when all that happened, but I'm glad we were able to get it fixed. I really appreciate the effort you guys put in to my upper, and going beyond what was expected. For ANYONE interested in American Spirit Arms, Dan's the person to answer your questions. Thanks again Dan, and American Spirit Arms!
