Hello,
Does anyone know of anywhere other than SAW to purchase a Colt CAR-15 collapsable stock (I can't afford the $125.00 from SAW). I've searched high & low w/ no luck. I found a similar one at M&A parts, but was looking for a orginal Colt stock...it's a suprise build for my father. Any ideas are much obliged.
Thanks...

Watch the Equipemt Exchange here, they come up for sale with some frequency.

This should be it, but I'd call first to verify. Brownell's

Just to clarify, are you looking for the old-style CAR stock or just one of the newer ones?

I did a search for "CAR" in the Equipment Exchange and at least two came up with prices in the $20-25 range. I believe both were "N/1" marked and were sold but they do show up. I've bought two from the EE and prices were similar.

TOS has a weight list of common parts but they're down again. The CAR is the lightest stock available but I don't recall the weight offhand.

No, that is the M4 stock. The CAR stock is a discontinued item for Colt.

Actually it's the M4 Type II stock.

While on the topic, where could a person find one of the new Colt Rogers type stocks? I would like one that is Colt marked to try out for myself.....

^SAW^

The stock I listed from Brownell's comes up as a Type I stock if you cross the number with SAW. SP64679

Correct, I am looking for the old-style CAR stock. I appreciate all of the suggestions...I'll start looking through the EE. Thanks!

I have ordered this part from Brownells (b/c it's almost $40 cheaper than SAW) and it is indeed the Type II M4 stock with the ribs and sling swivel.
