That price seems VERY high for some of the projected MSRP and street prices being hinted at. I've heard prices as low as competing with the MWS ($2400) with Hinterland Outfitters listing the CM901 for $1,892.78 and G&R Tactical saying they are hoping they list them below $2K.

Does that price include two uppers?

I like Colt as much as the next guy, I own a 6920.

But $2695 for a single rifle doesnt do it for me. For that money I can get a LaRue PredatAR in 308 and keep both my current AR's for shooting 5.56....

I believe that the link may be to the LE package which included a 5.56 upper along with the rifle. Also selective fire.

Two uppers and its worth it.

Dont want select fire option, (even if it really were a possibility for personal purchase), FA uses alot of expensive ammo.....quickly.

Yes, and considering the "going rate" for the 6940 type uppers, its actually cheap.

Two uppers.

Hope that's true. I'll get one.

The fire control group is listed as "Safe-Semi".

It looks likes the package includes a 6944 14.5" upper. For a guy that's in the process of buying a complete 6944, the package seems like a pretty good deal to me.

that is way too expensive. MGI has made the Hydra conversion rifle for years and you ca get a new one of those for $1100. Plus they take all milspec barrels and bolts. Nothing proprietary.

Gotcha. Then it's not a bad price at all. A 13" .308 and 16" .308 upper combo would be cool.

Might have a point if MGI had ever actually released their .308 magwell.

I don't know what the modularity BS is about. A new lower is inexpensive. I'd rather just have two rifles.

For most civis not a huge deal
I think it's more developed for those of us who might have to deal with an MTOE. Think about how awesome it would be to have 100 rifles you can configure to what you need them to be vs having a limited amount of M110s or EBRs.

I find the idea that Big Army would allow a conversion slightly bizare. I think they would just buy the rifle, issue the 5.56 upper and leave the 7.62 uppers in the arms room...

I'd agree with you about most units. However, I think a lot of the front line units using SDMs would benefit from it and take advantage of the capability. Not every weapon bought should have the 7.62 upper, but allowing commanders to order them as "spare parts" would be the way to go.

For the same reason that the Army spends more money "repairing" an M14 then it would to just buy a new SR25/LMT/SCAR.

Pretty sure that's been listed on Knesek's site for quite a while.
