Not that big of an issue, just asking though
How much slop do you guys have in between your upper and lowers? I already had my upper replaced by PSA, but this fit is so loose that I can rock it back and forth and visibley see and hear the upper flopping side to side. I know ARs are supposed to have SOME play, but are they supposed to sound like clackers and constantly rock back and forth? Thanks gents!
I've got a PSA upper on a PSA lower, I just checked it and I could only get a .005 inch feeler gauge between the upper and the lower while twisting them to open up the gap.
What lower are you using?
ETA I was checking at the tightest fitting point, just behind the mag well, not at the pins.
I put an oversized pin in the front take down hole to tighten mine up.
I think the best thing to do is post your online order. We will send you a call tag and get back the upper and LOWER. Since we are the manufacturer and it is a warrantly claim you will not need to use an FFL.
We will inspect the lower and find an upper that fits better.
Also, we have never had this come up before and we would like to look at it.

Mine fit together perfect
PSA complete upper and stripped PSA lower
I think the upper is fine, since y'all already replaced it once. I'm thinking it may be the lower, and I should send that in. I will be out of town for 2 weeks, but maybe I should send it in then. I'll have to dig through my emails to find the order number, I'll post back soon. Thanks again

Dude, send them in together like PSA suggested, that way they can determine where the problem is and fix it one time
When I had my upper, I had very little play when mounted on a Rainier Arms (Mega) lower.
Your post got me wondering. I just built an all PSA AR and it is my first one. I don't know what "normal" should be. I can fit a .009 feeler gauge in near the front pin and a .008 near the rear pin. From what I've read that seems pretty normal.

Ditto x 2; couldn't ask for a better fit on either one of mine.

Agreed, let them check out both. You may have just got that fluke combo that doesn't fit quite right. My PSA upper is very tight on a JD Machine lower.
My PSA complete upper and stripped (now completed) lower fit so tight, I have to use an object to push the rear takedown pin out. Eventually I will get extended pins but I wouldn't trade this fit for the world.
I had another complete rifle pre-built by a different manufacture that retails for upwards of $2200, I had a good amount of rocking between the upper and lower to the point I could hear it when I tilted the rifle back and forth. I contacted them to fix the issue and they had me send back the entire rifle on my dime, and in the end they only put an accu-wedge to help minimize the problem. On the phone they told me it's "not a problem" just some uppers fit better to some lowers and mine were at the opposite ends of acceptable manufacturing specifications. I was also disappointed that my customer service experience was a hassle when the rifle was returned to me weeks later without any explanation if they found or fixed any of the other problems I sent the rifle in for. I sold the rifle and bought my PSA since paying top dollar with the previous manufacture didn't get me much if any advantage over more standard/traditional AR style rifles. I chose the PSA to replace it and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase 10 more given my customer experience with them, the performance of their product and reading how they address everyone else's issues on the forum.
They are offering to fix your problem, a problem that isn't a problem for other manufactures, on their dime, under warranty. I don't know you, but I understand your frustration, however, I would be hesitant to dictate what you are or are not going to send back to a manufacture when they state that they need everything to make it right for you. Again, this isn't a problem for some other manufactures and is seen as a characteristic inherent to the modular design of the AR platform. Just follow their instructions and let the PSA CS machine do their thing.

my first PSA build was with a PSA lower and PSA upper. Fit was pretty nice. A little off, but still tight. no rattle, no slop.
you can sort of see that the upper is just a bit left of the lower.
with second PSA build, it is closer together and the fit is pretty tight. no rattle, no slop. this is also a PSA lower and PSA upper. My next build will probably be with a polymer lower and PSA upper or old preban A2 lower with PSA upper. gotta figure out what i want to do next. definitely a .300blk in the future.
