Intriguing..I just picked mine up not too long ago and Neil at Gun Gallery pointed out the lastest upgrades that I read about..I really wonder what more they can do to make this awesome rifle even better. I guess that's what makes KAC, well, KAC..

Someone is shoving you some serious BS.
We have had EM Carbines on-the-shelf ready to ship since before February 2010.
Still do...

Here is mine. A 1994 vintage Vero Beach beauty. Thing shoots so nice. A 300 yard target on left and 500 on right. Shoots consistent sub .400 MOA groups.

Typical 100 yard grouping

The best thing KAC could do for the SR 25 is to price it in line with the competition... It is hard to justify the extra $$$ over a LaRue or LWRC. I know the KAC is a great system...but is it great enough to justify the price difference? If it were priced in line with the competition, it would be a dominant platform in 7.62

Awesome, opinion noted. Probably not the best thread to take issue with their pricing.

The newer EMCs ship with the sand cut carrier. If your carrier comes with the non-sand cut then well...it's the not sand cut version.

Because it's a pic thread:

IMHO, its ridiculus to think the piston LWRC gun that has had a few major problems in the first year its been released to a EMC which is a highly refined product of DECADES of R&D.

Larue gun....I will keep my shut, but you could not give me two of those for one emc for a fact.

Both guns I am all but sure of have used some of KAC's decades of R&D on this particular caliber AR. You are certainly entitled to your opinion however the justification is clearly evident for myself and the EMC is in its own class at the top of the heap w. the MWS being a close second... that is my opinion

OK gentlemen, as Titleist said, let's keep the price arguing/kool-aid drinking out of here please... But it sure would be nice to snag one of those bad boys for 4k

Titleist, What did you have to do to upgrade your BCG? Or is that a memory you would rather not relive?

I had some relatives visiting over the weekend and my new cousin-in-law took some real nice pics of my carbine with his fancy pants camera. Hopefully he'll send them to me soon so I can share!

You want to email Kevin at:

kboland@knightarmco.com

do not use PMs as he requests.

Also, Kevin alluded that he was out of town so give it some time.

Slick, Chris. Very slick.

Tell me you're bringing that thing next month. I can't be the only guy running a battle rifle in our class.

Thanks for the video, it really is easy to swing it around. I'd be curious how the Super Tap affects recoil, from the video, you can really see Chris's shoulder move whereas in the Carbine videos, his SBR barely moves his shoulder at all.

Slick is a great adjective to describe the rail on Costa's new rifle. An arguably far superior /and all around different rail than the rail on your EM-C carbine Titelist1, oh and let's not forget the Supertap/Doubletap.

The 7.62 round has over twice the range of 5.56 especially compared to a 11.5 or 10 " barrel . A few shooters like Chris who shoot the EM-C / M110-C rifle profess to being as fast and much more accurate at medium to long range especially in higher wind conditions than with their 5.56 rifles. Training,Training and more training .There is no magic bullet... 5.56 and 7.62 both have their roles but in potentially longer range environments the 7.62 carbine rifle has finially proven itself in terms of reliability and speed, to be used in a dual role ...CQB and sniper

care to elaborate a little more in regards to the rail? Is it along the lines of the LW URX in production for the Magpul SR15? If so, the obvious question is will it be available commercially?

That explains the tingly sensation I just got! I feel sorry for the steel targets already. All I can say to that is BOOM:

Owwww. OWWWWW. That hurts, Trey. Anyone want to buy a USED SR-25? I guess I'm in the market for an OBR now.

Kidding!

RustedAce  [Team Member]

From what I can tell it looks like the same style as the URX from the magpul gun. Looks like it has integral sling points too.

I really want one of those rails for my SR25 EMC.

My biggest complaint about the EMC is the lack of rail sling points like the E3 has, because I move the sling around on my E3 all the time depending on what I am doing.

ETA:

Hey 030, I have my beat up deployment gear entered in you gear contest, I will trade you the gear for that new rail!
Titleist1  [Team Member]
9/11/2010 10:42:30 PM
Towards the front of the rail, yes (in regards to QD points). Similar to the MD style SR-15 rail.

Looking forward to my super duper tap sometime very soon. Oh since that upper is already in your shop, Trey, just go ahead and throw that new rail on there.

Thanks for making an absolutely awesome gun, Trey. You could take all my other rifles from me, and I'd be content for the rest of my life running my SR-25.
