CAR-14 Stock System for Standard M14/M1A Rifles
I just got through watching the video about the CAR-14 at the SHOT show. The stock system seems more streamlined than the current MCS. I've owned a MCS before, but the rifle felt bulky. I used it for a short time for 3-Gun matches with a M1A Scout rifle before returning to a traditional wood stock. I didn't need all the rail real estate.
Are there any plans to produce a CAR-14 style stock for standard gas system M14/M1As?
I know I'm resurrecting a dead thread here but I have the same interests. I really want the MCS but I don't need all the rail space (which is why I love the TRX series) and I would like to see the "shrouded charging handle" feature shown on the CAR-14. So Troy, care to give any insight on this possibility, if it's one at all?
Unfortunately the CAR-14 was a prototype unit that completely re-engineered the M14 system and therefore will not be sold on the civilian market. Some of the streamline ergonomic features may find its way over to the M14/M1A Chassis System we produce however some will not because of the redesigning that was done to the rifle. Please keep an eye out on Troyind.com for any news on new products. Thanks!
