Can you permanently attach an A2 flash hider to a 14.5" barrel?

You can, but it won't be legal without a registered SBR lower. You need a Sabre extended A2 FH to be legal.

Frankly, for the money, the YHM Phantom is much better.

FYI, an A2 flash suppressor will not bring a 14.5" bbl up to 16"

Tag, as I would like to know if they offer this service with extended A2 FS' or 14.7 barrels.

With the 'right' sized washer behind it, an A2 is very much legal.

OK, but that would look funky, and a good FH that will get you to legal length is only a few dollars more...

We have a few different options that can be attached on a 14.5" barrel to bring the OAL to 16", here's what I can think of off the top of my head:

Phantom (or A-2 Phantom)
Troy Medieval Brake or Flash Hider
Carlson Comp
PWS FSC

There are probably some more, but those are the quickest ones to come to mind.

Thanks,

Jesse

The problem with the Vortex flash hiders is that when you weld over the pin hole, the heat treat will sometimes get messed up and you'll have a prong either move in or out. Out is not that big of a deal, it'll just get snagged on something, but in results in a bullet strike which usually snaps the prong off. That was one of the reasons that we stopped carrying and attaching the vortex flash hiders. A troy rail does not have to have the sight removed for installation, so that would be no problem, if you wanted a one piece rail HG, then that would be a problem, as it is nearly impossible to seal the rest of the unit off when you sandblast and repark.
