Well this makes it impossible for a deployed customer to place an order.

I place an order at the ACE website for a folding stock setup for a dedicated 22 AR I'm building. A couple days later I get this in an E-mail.

*For all credit card purchases, we are required to ship to the billing address unless you fax us a letter specifying that you give us permission to ship to a different address. An email will not suffice because the letter must be signed. You must also fax a copy of the front of your drivers’ license and the front of the credit card you are using. We’re sorry about the inconvenience.*

1. I don't have a fax machine out here, seriously

2. A copy of the front of my ID AND CC? I called my bank and they said I should file a police report on an attempted ID theft.

Is this a new policy? If it isn't, no one has had a problem with this?

I own and operate a small gunsmithing business when Uncle Sam isn't eating up all my time. I use ACE products on almost all my AK builds and many of my AR builds.

Since Double Star bought ACE a guess this BS started...

Is there another distributor for ACE that doesn't have such an "inconvenient" policy?

Why are you having the stock sent to you in Iraq??? Customs will more that likely take it from you in Ali Al Salem... They have a long list of items that you can not take back. like ASPS sspring assted blades GPS with grids marked and so on...

Home of record (where I got my bank card) is in Montana.

Duty station is Ft. Bragg NC (where my guns are) is where I want the stock shipped.

I'll be home in a few weeks and would like the stock waiting for me.

I am NOT trying to have anything sent to Iraq.

Aaron,
I understand your concern but this is our company policy. The reason we do this is to insure that customers shipping to a different address are the actual card holder. If you wish to not send this information we can ship to the billing address with out needing it. If you have any other questions please let me know.
Thanks
Tim

Why not take your business elsewhere?

I'm kinda surprised at this one, I've typically had good luck with J&T - and most businesses for that matter - when dealing with them from overseas. Certainly will keep in mind, though, as anymore I have my things shipped to an alt address (as the folks are typically at their place more than the wife is at ours).

So by running your small gunsmithing business are you set up with anyone as a dealer as in RSR, JSC,RRA,DPMS or BUSHY, they all should have ACE stocks...
