How good of a group are you guys getting out of the 20" barreled 6.5's? Please specify lined or not.

On non-chrome lined using Wolf Gold, I get sub MOA groups with a FF, good trigger, scope, etc. I haven't ran a ton of rounds through them yet, as I am a cheap bugger and hate thinking about $.75 going down range with every trigger pull on an AR platform.

We just had a write up on our 6.5's in one of the magazines, I don't recall which one off the top of my head, and they broke down a decent selection of ammunition and their results. I'll check and see if I can find the article or the publication and post the info.

Thanks for the reply. Did you shoot the chrome lined? Also, what is the profile on the 20" barrel? I just want to maximize value and your upper seems to be the way to go for that.

I have not shot a chrome lined 6.5 for accuracy. Our 20" is our standard HBAR contour, .750 @ the sight base, I think it's .875 under the HG.

Thanks,

Jesse

Sweet, thanks for the info. You will be getting my order about a month before redeployment!

There are 2 standardized, but different, chambers for the 6.8 SPC which yield different results. Only the rifles chambered with the newer specified chamber(aka 6.8mm Spec II chamber) can safely use the higher powered/higher pressure ammunition. All other rifles should only be used with the standard cartridge pressure loadings.

Which version is used? I checked the website but did not see any specific info.

I figure SPC Spec II gives more options, but I just started to dig into this size round for something a bit more hard hitting than 5.56 ––

As far as I've heard, almost everyone uses the Spec 2 chambers now, which we do as well. Things were a bit sketchy at first with the two chamber dimensions, but most everyone has moved into the Spec 2 now.
