recommendations for lightweight barrel
i've got a new RRA and the barrel is heavy as hell. 3 things,
1. what is a good brand at a good price for a lightweight barrel? (around 150 maybe?)
2. do you have to re-zero the eotech after wards, or just re-check as it should be close?
3. how much of a pain to switch?

send to addco have them profile it
wont cost that much
You will have to rezero.
It isn't that much of a pain to change barrels...if you already have a vise, something to hold the upper in the vise, roll punches, punches for the taper pins if it has them, barrel nut wrench, torque wrench (some people don't use one), hammer or mallet, proper grease for the barrel nut threads, and if the new barrel is threaded for a muzzle device and it isn't installed, then you will need a crush or peel washer and a wrench.
any recommendations for good brand at decent price?
no one has a cost efficent lightweight barrel, thats a shame, must be a lot of sore people out there

Used one of these on a light weight build. Only using a dot sight, so have not done any accuracy testing, but it seems ok. They also have a 20" barrel for about $15 more.
Check out PSA.
Watch the EE....occasionally a new or lightly used Bushmaster "Super Light Weight" pops up there, &
can't get much lighter than that...they are fairly accurate barrels... though 1:9 twist... if
that matters to you.
my RRA has a 1:9 so that would be perfect... i'll keep my eyes open. thanks
Daniel Defense S2W
for anything not used your going to shell out, i do however like Daniel Defense barrels, in the 14.5" range.
Looking at the DD barrels, they are 14.5inch, and I thought the flash suppressor was built onto them, making them 16", although they have threaded ends.... can anyone elaborate how that works?

Maybe look at that Wilson Combat light16" SS 5.56.
I've just ordered the 204 Ruger 18" from them. That 16 has some good reviews though on the hunt'n boards. good accuracy.

If it is an RRA Upper then it probably doesn't have M4 cuts in the receiver also. but you should check if you change barrels to make sure you don't end up with a barrel extension combination that will cause problems. Last I heard, RRA is still using non-m4 cut uppers in their builds.

Buy an extended length muzzle device (YHM Phantom, FSC556, Battlecomp 1.5, A2X Flash hider), send it to a gunsmith like Adco and get it permanently pin welded on and then it'll be non-NFA.

DD has 16" LW threaded barrels too if you want to save the hassle of pinning/soldering. IMO, the drawback to DD's LW barrels is the .625 gas block journal. Although .625 gas block options are getting better making that a moot point.

They do not come with a built in flash suppressor. You would need to select a muzzle device that would bring the overall length of the barrel to 16" or greater, then have it permanently attached using one of the ATF accepted methods (generally pin and weld or silver solder) to avoid creating an NFA regulated SBR.
an aac blackout flash suppressor is what i recommend, it brings it to the required length.
I know I'm gonna get hammered for this but...
$90 16" 1:7 barrel from SG, no gas block
barrel
I built an upper with one, cycles fine, can't speak for accuracy as I haven't had time to sight it in.
$153 M4 profile with iron sight
barrel

It's always good to check but my RRA upper has M4 cuts. All the ones my department purchased have them as well.

They're still in business? Wow, I've been out of the shooting scene way too long. Has service improved?
