LMT Enhanced bolt, 5 O'clock ejection.
I have an LMT rifle that is ejecting in the 5 o'clock zone. I'm running a Colt F/A carrier with the Enhanced LMT bolt. I've tried the carbine buffer, H buffer and H2 buffer and it never changes, it's always the 5 o'clock position.
Think the heavy duty dual extractor springs of the LMT Enhanced bolt could be causing this? Anyone else experience this with the LMT Enhanced bolts? I know the extractor is really aggressive. There are no carrier gas leaks or FSB gas leaks.
***Initially, the rifle was short stroking. I was running the LMT Enhanced carrier with LMT Enhanced bolt and a Noveske carbine buffer spring. I thought maybe the Enhanced carrier and buffer spring were the culprits.
So I went to a standard full auto Colt carrier and kept the Enhanced LMT bolt. I also switched backed to the stainless mil spec buffer spring. Gun runs good now, but the ejection location kind of bothers me. ***

What length barrel and gas system?
I usually never pay attention to my ejection pattern if the rifle is running reliably. I got rid of my LMT Enhanced BCG awhile ago because of the issues I had.
I would would tend to agree with you that since you tried different buffers and BCGs with the same results, the LMTs unique extractor may be causing this.

Thanks, it's a 14.5 inch carbine upper.
Swap in a standard bolt and see if the ejection pattern changes......
if the empty is ejecting, I wouldn't worry about what direction it is going so as long as it clears the port
people get to wrapped up in "what o'clock" their empties land.

This is true, but since the rifle was short stroking, I was just concerned that maybe I'm on the border of short stroking and not. I guess as long as it runs....
My 10.5 LMT upper with the enhanced BCG piles all the brass @5:00. No matter if its on a carbine lower with a standard buffer or running FA with a A5 receiver extention.

Ok, good to know. Thanks.
Maybe you could call LMT and ask them to send you one timed at two o'clock since others have the same bolt and are ejecting in the same place.

+1
My 6933 with a H3 ejects to the 1-2 o'clock
6920 with H2 ejects 4-5 o'clock
6940 with H2 ejects the same as 6920
My 6940 was ejecting at 1-2 from the factory with the H buffer and standard extractor spring with black insert. It changed when I replaced the extractor spring with the Colt heavy duty green spring. This was done to all my rifles.
