So I have like them for a long time and may not take the plunge to have another upper. I have been looking at what is out there and trying to decide so here is what I have found and like so far.

PSA hammer forged complete Dissy uppers, they look nice PSA has great CSR and it is complete less the BCG/CH. $419

ADCO now has their Dissy capable mid barrels for $229

Johhny USA is selling middy barrels that are meolnited for $129 (so I would have to have the front turned down)

I would assume I could pick up an upper, FSB, gas block, tube, barrel nut for an additional $150-$200 depending on luck in the EE, so they all come out to be upper $380-$420

Any reccomendations on what else to look at or options to consider, stay away from or experience with these above?

My friend has the Dissy upper from PSA and it's very nice. First thing I've gotten to handle from them. Probably doesn't help you out too much though

I personally prefer the spikes as it is a lightweight. But you can't go wrong with the Psa.

The Spikes LW and PSA HF dissipators are nice.

I think you could almost flip a coin between the Spike's and PSA Dissipators. Money wise, they're almost to the penny the same price. Spike's appears slightly more but you get a $ 25-30 buffer and Moe handguards included. Doh, forgot PSA BCG went up $20 ... that means the Spike's is actually a little cheaper assuming the next lot is the same price as Aim shows on their site. Both made with good components. I've had a PSA for a few days, visual inspection wise my particular upper is excellent. There's 3 little things on the entire upper that IMO Spike's does better. The PSA has the handguard cap secured with a screw vs Spike's little stainless stud. The gas block has 2 set screws .... Spike's is pinned .... pinned is always better although a bunch of higher dollar builders don't pin either if the gas block is under the handguards. Last, the PSA front sight tower is mounted on top of the barrel stamps. On mine you can read 5.56 ( under the handguards peeping through the hole), and MP - CHF - C .... beween the sight tower rings ... the rest is obscured. I think it would be nicer if they plan to offer the Dissy permanently to have the barrels stamped in a different location. PSA does have the hammer forged barrel which seems to be a big thing to some. The hammer forged hype means zero to me .... just a different way to put in the rifling .... as in faster and cheaper, CHF shouldn't cost more. If they offered the dissy without the CHF I would have bought that. Here's the big problem .... Spike's Dissipators aren't available very often and when they are you better be real quick. Personally I'm not much of a fan of the lightweight stuff, makes the muzzle device look like a huge can on that skinny barrel. But it looks pretty good on the dissy with hardly any barrel exposed ... just personal taste. That said, design wise the light weight barrel is probably a good idea on the dissy to offset the 1.5 oz or so extra gas block .... I don't care about that small weight difference myself one way or the other. I don't think you can go wrong on either, I'd buy a Spike's in addition if they ever come in stock for more than seems like 24 hours.
