Here is a great article i found on Rainier Arms website.
http://blog.rainierarms.com/2011/12/05/intro-to-forward-grips/
From what i have learned and how i shoot best i use the Mag well grip from supported positions like off a bench or behind cover kneeling or prone. Traditional grip when shooting out to long ranges weaver stance, and sitting Indian style. For in house close quarters combat i use the Overhand grip with isosceles stance and on the move. Please tell me how you grip your rifle and post pics of your AR's. THANKS

Daniel Defense modular float rail.
I keep my stock collapsed to the second position from fully closed to keep the weight of the weapon as close to the body as possible. I use an MOE-K grip to facilitate the wrist relief required for this. In the forend, I utilize a VFG with a handstop so that I can throw my thumb forward and over the handstop as a reference point, and use the VFG as a rear handstop. The VFG also facilitates easy manipulations during strong side to support side transitions or vice versa by providing a bit more leverage on the carbine and a quick reference point for my hand to find while switching hands.
This picture is a little fucked up. I was fucking around on the range and my form is horrible.
Edit:

With a vfg i use the same grip that you are using.
