What is a reasonable price for my rifle?

Been wanting to build a setup, but I can't justify shelling out money for something new right now.

considering selling my current setup to fund a build.

How much should I expect to get?

<1000 rnds, Stag complete Model 2-t with carry handle sight, Stag-marked 7inch 2-piece FF samson rail, and foregrip

That is a good point. everything you have as a base is quality equipment. You can change to a FF rail to give better consistency shot to shot. Put a better stock and pistol grip for added comfort and you got a great rifle.

I'd go this route and sell off everything I didn't use on the EE.

Thats a good point. I've considered that. I've actually bought a decent grip, an ACS stock, VFG, MBUS, a light setup, and a red dot that I would keep for my build.

Its a FF rail on there now (I guess I should have noted that. I'll update OP), but I want a midlength system instead of a carbine.

Here's what I was wanting to end up with:

16" 1/8 or 1/7 barrel. (I like AA's melonite finish, but I also like PWS's 1/8 barrels)
Adams Arms midlength piston
extended midlength FF quad rail (probably centurion arms)
Troy BUS
Good lower (Probably AGP - theyre just around the corner from me)
RRA LPK

This would run me about $1200-$1400 I figure.

plus the stuff I mentioned I already have and intend to keep: ACS stock, grip, vfg, PA red dot, and Fenix light setup. I've actually been contemplating an a2 stock, instead of adjustable. Eventually, I'm putting a high-lux 1-4 on it.

I'm a full time student with 3 kids, and a part time job. $ is tight (even though the wife says keep this one, I feel bad starting another when I could use the $ for something else...)

I figured I could start with the AGP lower and start piecing it together from there. What do you think?

Adams Arms midlength piston The DI system giving you problems? I prefer the DI it is lighter and less moving part or parts to break
extended midlength FF quad rail (probably centurion arms) This can be done on yours
Troy BUS
Good lower (Probably AGP - theyre just around the corner from me)
RRA LPK You can upgrade the trigger and not have to get the whole LPK

This would run me about $1200-$1400 I figure.

Do not take this the wrong way because I do not mean it to be rude but it sounds like you are buying into a lot of hype stuff (piston, barrel twist, gas system length). You have a good rifle right now you can upgrade to fit your needs very easily and save a tremendous amount of money.

I hear you. not having problems with carbine length, but I want a longer rail for ergonomics. I looked into both sides of the piston argument and I fell there's not a right answer, just preferences based on different aspects. You prefer to save a little on weight, but I prefer to save time on cleaning internals. With the AA piston kit, in order to get a rail long enough for what I want, I'd need to get a midlength kit.

right now I'm just shooting m193. Eventually, I'd like to get into reloading and be able to use 75gr bullets. The barrel twist is lower on the priority list, but still a consideration, nonetheless.

My first thought was $750... but yeah in that range (or less) depending on the local market.

I'd just shave down the front sight, install a 13" Troy Alpha, and put on those accessories you already bought. It'll cost you basically nothing, and achieve the ergonomics you're looking for. There's nothing wrong with that rifle as a base.

this, if your already tight on money your not going to be shooting it enough to see any benefit of "cleaner internals" from a piston set-up, but if its what you want go ahead.

Great advice and I'd really consider just keeping what you have..I have a few piston rifles and I shoot my DI's WAY more and hardly ever clean them..Just wipe down the BCG and add a little oil before shooting and I'm good to go..Current rifle has just under 10K in the past 17-18 months and I've only thoroughly cleaned it three times so far to inspect parts..

Have a friend with the same rifle sd yours and he has 16K through his and we call her Old Faithful cause she's never let him down..
