Just scored a NIB Colt 6940 w/ LEO markings for $1200

I just have to share this - whether or not you like Colts or not we can all appreciate a good buy.
No pics cause we all know what they look like.
Was at a gun show in Lebanon PA today after getting off duty. Its not a big show but a good one with a decent selection of vendors from mom&pop shops to class 3's, etc.
The wife and I were making our way around the tables and I spotted a Colt 6940, with restricted markings, unfired for $1274.99. The box looked a little rough, no factory plastic bag, but had owners manual and unopened accessory bag. As I was looking at it one of the sales guys mentioned that it was a consignment gun from a regular customer.
I thought to myself for a guy looking for an AR, particularly a Colt, that this is a solid buy. But for me right now, just didn't think I wanted to go through the hassle of selling one my 6920's to make room for another carbine.
So before leaving that hall I went back again just to check it out. You know, we all do this. But, yeah its a good price but I really don't wanna fork out approx. $1350 right now.
So I keep telling the wife its a good buy (they all look about the same to her) and see a couple other tables with LE 6940's with the rogers stock for $1499.99. As we get to the end of the last hall she says, "look, if it s a good buy, just go BUY it".
Once again, I'm back to thinking "yeah its a good price but I already have one" and don't really wanna fork out the cash and have to sell another gun to cover it.
So we head back to the hall where its at and thought to myself "I really kinda hope this thing has sold already" just so I don't have to mess it.
I THINK WE ALL CAN RELATE TO THAT!
As we get close I still see it laying there and said "DAMN!" to myself and walked up and started finger f'g this thing again.
Well this time, theres another guy there, I ask what form of payment they accept and he says that he can make it worth my while (save the GAY jokes!).
I said alright, what can you do - thinking he's gonna knock like $50 bucks or so off of it.
He had me at "I can get you out the door for $1200".
I said "SOLD" and all of a sudden selling another carbine to pay for this one didn't seem like such a hassle after all.

Man, I don't go to gunshows because I always think "bah, there's never anything at a gunshow that isn't overpriced". Then you pick up something like that an hour from my place. Congrats on the great buy from a jealous member of the peanut gallery.
Give ya $1300 for it. Free $100! And you won't have to sell one of your 6920s.

Real nice find and a unbelievable price. I wanted a 6940 and couldn't fid one anywhere in a 200 mile radius. I just learned about the "Restricted" markings and ran across a 6920 with "Restricted" marking with some VLTOR accessories on it making it look like a 6940 so I bought that.
Congrat's...you have a great wife like I have!....and thanks for your service as a police officer.

It didn't have the LEO markings, but I scored one a couple of weeks ago, with a scope and a little over 200 rounds of ammo for $870. I didn't know it was a 6940 until the guy pulled it out of the bag. I thought it might be one of 6920s Walmart is selling. Then I realized it had the fold down front sight and a rail. I was beginning to think it was a piece together, but then I saw the rail was all one piece with the upper. He confirmed it by busting out his original receipts. Sure enough, factory built 6940.
