 Removing front take down pin

Is there a trick to removing this thing? I'm refinishing the lower, and it's the only thing I can't remove.

ETA nevermind, I see the hole now in the pin, opposite side of the detent.

You got it - that hole is how you remove the PIVOT PIN. The TAKEDOWN PIN is the rear one.

Put the lower in a bag when you pull the pivot pin, the detent tends to launch and become invisible.

Ayup, I've done that before, except when assembling... And you are absolutely correct, they are DAMN hard to find!


I don't think I have a spare now, so I'll be careful.
