Used FN upper value
Stumbled upon a 20" A2 FN upper with 1:7 twist today. Crown is good, very little wear internally, locking lug recess' appeared sharp and the rifling appeared good.
Sights and handguards are installed, but the forward assist isn't. Most of the wear on the exterior is cosmetic, it appears to be from handling and storage.
The seller said he bought two cases of these, he didn't say from who, but he said they came from the military; rifles that were used for guard duty aboard ships. Don't even ask me how he would even know.
1. Were A2 FN uppers ever available to the civilian market? The only place I ever seen an FN was when I carried one for Uncle.
2. What would this upper be worth? (Sorry, no pics. He's asking $294)

Ohio Ordnance Works is selling them for $335 plus shipping so that doesn't seem to be a bad price. You will see them on the equipment exchange here every once in a while, but those guys are usually asking closer to $400.
