Excellant 150gr load for 300 BLK.

Well I finally got out to chrony my Speer 150 gr BT load with Lil'Gun. Needless to say I'm most pleased and think I have my Deer load for next season.
I'd post a pic of the target but can't as this site don't make it easy. I'll post it over on M4Carbine.net so you can see it. Shot it with my 4 MOA Strikefire as well at 100 yards. So all you get is the Chrony results load data is on the target
Load: Speer 150gr BT, Fed Case 1.360", CCI 400, COAL 2.100" 17 gr Lil'Gun
Avg. 2022 FPS
ES 38
SD 10.1
B.C. 423
If anyone could run this through the load builder program I'm real currious as to the Pressure of this load. I didn't see any pressure signs, primers looked good, and pockets were still tight for the next load. Thanks in advance- Again this load was safe in MY FIREARM if you want to try it Please REDUCE load to 16 gr LilGun and start there!

I have tried 2 factory loads in my 300 and just ran 20 reloads with hdy amax 208 gr with 10gr of lil gun and they did not cycle well.

Yep I'm quite impressed with Lil gun seems to be a very good powder for this round. I tried these 150's with W296 and couldn't get the velocity without pressure signs.I only got 1881 fps before primers started getting real flat! Pockets loosen up as well.
Accuracy was so so. ES was all over the place. As you can see this is a very consistant load I have no doupt scoped this would be a very accurate load. Probably an inch or less at 100 yards.

Any idea if that bullet expands? Seems like it wouldn't at 300 speeds since it was probably designed for 308 and 30-06 velocities.

These are the HotCor Speer bullets - not bonded bullets and speer say they will expand all the way down to 1500 fps and with this load that well past 250 yards!
At '06 velocities they are quite explosive close up on game. I shot a doe mulely at 80 yards with my '06 -prefect broad side and the 165 gr version of this bullet. it went in and exploaded inside the chest- DRT right there fell so fast I thought I missed her. opened her up and everything in the chest was jello! Couldn't tell heart from lung!
