Barrel length questions for my 300BLK.

I initially wanted to go with the 8" Noveske barrel with KAC URXIII rail.

Well, KAC doesnt make the 7" length I would need for this to work with the 762N-6 can.

So, I can either go with the longer 10" Noveske barrel and have the URXIII rail, or I have to find a new rail that will work with the 8" barrel.

I am kind of torn on what I want to do. I really wanted the URXIII rail (Love the one on my RECCE) but I also really want the shortest OAL I can have, especially since I will be hanging a can off the end.

What do you guys who have ran both, think about the 8" vs the 10" barrel length for 300BLK. I am still learning, but have read that 8" is plenty long enough for 300BLK.

I will be using this upper for versatility. SHTF carbine beside the bed. Fun practice/training at the range, and I am curious to see how much precision can be attained with it, shooting both subs and supersonic ammo at extended ranges.

Once I get past the oppressive waits from the government, the upper will wear the suppressor almost always, for what it is worth.

Daniel Defense and Larue offer 7" rails that will be just as durable as the KAC and should allow your suppressor to fit on an 8" barrel. Bonus is that the DD needs a $10 wrench and the Larue uses a standard barrel wrench. Don't have to buy that KAC wrench.

Borrowed 8" picture of a DD lite.

I have an 8" with a MI SS carbine forend on it. I was able to try for quick groups the other day and was just shooting off my range bag with really no support and was shooting 2moa at 100 yards. I was pretty impressed. I'd like to get on a rest and really see results. I was shooting supers and subs. Subs dropped about 9 inches at that range from where I had zeroed with the supers.

I will check them out, but the barrel wrench is a non issue. Kevin at High Caliber Sales has the wrench. He installed the URXIII on my 16" RECCE 5.56.

I have basically accepted that if I want the URX, I will just have to go with the 10" barrel.
