hopefully, i've come to the right place and you guys will be able to help me out. i need some information in regards to pistol buffer tubes. first of all, how many different types/sizes are there? and secondly, for those of you that have pistol buffer tubes AND calipers, i REALLY need the exact outside dimensions. mainly, length and diameter. if you have a pistol buffer tube, but no caliper, and can not get diamter, please use some string and tell me the exact circumference.

it is very important that i get the exact measurements of the outside dimensions on ALL types of pistol buffer tubes. anything y'all can do to help get me there is GREATLY appreciated.

btw - when i say "length", i mean from the furthest rear protrustion (however small it may be, little nub, whatever) to where the buffer tube enters the body of the lower receiver.

thank you guys, in advance, for whatever (accurate) information you can provide

Given that any length buffer tube can legally be used on a pistol build, there's a near infinite variety. I have a full length rifle stock buffer tube on my pistol. Some folks use carbine tubes. There are specific pistol tubes; some .22" LR & piston pistols do away w/ the buffer tube altogether.

Some folks w/ pistol specific buffers will chime in shortly.

I have the PWS pistol buffer tube. It measures 7" even from the back of the lower receiver to the end of the tube. Dont have calipers, so the circumference is 3 and 15/16, which works out to 1.25" diameter.

awesome, thank you.

anyonelse with pistol specific tubes? please lemme know what yours measures.

in fact, for those of you using a tube that is not specifically for a pistol, but is ON a pistol, please tell me your spec's as well. not necessarily the full length rifle tube, but rather ANY tube that is likely to be used on a AR pistol.

thanks guy, this is a HUGE help
