i believe RRA is still making them. at $20 and change, not a bad alternative to the $50 colts.

Get the Rock River handguards and then start combing gunshows for Colt's. I've picked up 2 nice pair for $10 each in the last year at different shows.

I was looking for two sets of six-holers and found one on the EE. I emailed RRA, based on the word they make six-hole handguards. Their reply: not any more; they are all seven-hole now.

If I go by and they still have some, I will grab them, but it is way out of the way.

I seem to remember them selling the RRA furniture for the same price RRA did...the handguards on their site now are priced cheaper, so I doubt they are still the RRA stuff, but please keep us informed

I'm looking at mine now, and they are identical to the Colt ones I have from SAW, and matchup with the pictures on the retro forum. They just aren't marked Colt, and I don't think they ever were.

If I can I will go by and check, hopefully they have not had so many e-mails on this they pull them. Sorry, I should have PM'd you.

MCI is where ATF used to be there. Last Saturday I went there and they had a large box with handguards for $10/ set. I pulled out 2 sets of Colts, not to be greedy. A team member e-mailed them and they said they are not Colts. I know the ones I bought are, and left several in the box. If another AZ team member could check for you, you might get some more.

I can not vouch for the quality of the M&A ones. I just really like the Colt ones because they look and feel good and do not seem to heat up as quick.

Keep your eyes on the EE. They are out there. The last two sets I've bought out of the EE were for under $10, including shipping.

The carbine upper I got from them (circa 2007?) came with the "unknown" 7-hole style carbine handguards.

Just say'n,

I think the only other contribution I can make to this topic is to look out for all CAR HG's advertised in the EE not just ones advertised as known Colt, & ask questions or request better pictures. I look at it this way, if a seller is bothered by a potential buyer then I don't really care to give that person my money anyway, if they cannot be trouble by a request for better pic or description if the originals are lacking. Some owners don't know the difference or just don't care about getting a premium for them.

BTW, thanks but I'll keep a hold of the ones I have for future use.
