Any black pistol grips?

Are there any truly BLACK A1 pistol grips in existence? I'm trying to find a glossy or semi gloss black A1 grip for a late 70s A1 build, and all I can seem to find are brown ones mottled to some degree. I thought I found a black one at the fun show this morning, but I got it home and the damn thing had been painted flat black at some point and had some awesome mottling under the paint. The mottling looks good, but my vision for my ideal A1 clone only includes black black black furniture. Are they all not black or have I just not found one yet?

If the mottled one you have looks good, you might post a WTT note over on the RetroBlickRifle forums and on the Want to Trade forum of the Equipment Exchange here. You just might find someone who wants to swap a glossy black one for a mottled one.

SP1s usually came with a nice black grip. most of the mottled i've run across have been usgi surplus.

Hmm. I might just have to go with a mottled grip on the build then. What color are the grips from those parts kits that were floating around a couple years ago?

They varied but finding a totally black shiny grip is difficult because of what they're made of.

I'll head down to the basement and see what I've got in the can o' parts. I might have one down there. No luck, everythings either got some mott to it, or is kinda scrubby looking.

I bought a couple from Bill Ricca some time ago that were black. (still in sealed bags with tags.) May want to try him. I also use them on my A2 competition rifles now that they are CMP rules legal.

While not shiney, it is black with no mottling..

I've got several that are the same matte black color as the A2 grips.

Every A1 grip I have ever seen that was shiny has had at least a little bit of mottling on it. I do have a couple really shiny ones (most recently believed to be H&R or GM, they have the large bottom) but even those have a very slight hint of mottling.

FWIW my 1965 SP1 is matte black.
