Palmetto State Armory is proud to announce the addition of hammer forged barrels to our lineup of quality uppers. Manufactured right here in South Carolina using the finest "machine gun steel", these barrels are chrome-lined and each one is MP inspected, and high pressure tested.
Starting at $499.99 for a complete upper with BCG and Charging handle, quantities are limited at this introductory price.
Substitute a MOE handguard for $20
Substitute a MOE handguard and add an MBUS for $70 (specify color in the special instructions at checkout)
Get it without BCG and Charging handle for $419.99
Barrel: 16", Hammer Forged Machine Gun Steel, M4 profile, 5.56 NATO chamber with a 1:7 twist , chrome-lined, MPI, HPT, a carbine-length gas port, and M4 feedramps. Barrels are finished off with a taper pinned, f-marked, front sight post, standard handguards, and an A2 flash hider.
Upper: Forged 7075-T6 A3 AR upper is made to MIL-SPECS and hard coat anodized black for durability. Featuring machined T marks, and a mil-spec finish. These uppers are made for us right here in the USA by a mil-spec manufacturer, and are marked with the Palmetto State Armory logo on the left side, up front, just below the rail.
Bolt: Bolt is made of Mil-spec Carpenter 158 steel, Shot peened, MPI and HPT. Gas key is secured with grade 8 fasteners and staked per mil-spec. Bolt carrier is parkerized outside, chrome lined inside, and laser engraved with the Palmetto State Armory logo

Yes, our hammer forged barrels are made by FN.

If it is chambered for 5.56 it will shoot .223 no problem.
If it is chambered for .223 you should not shoot 5.56 (exceptions exists eg wilde chamber).

Any plans for a mid length upper? I hate to be the guy that asks for something else when you bring something to market but I prefer the middy and your product is something I'd be interested in.

I just bought one with the Troy TRX and I can tell you this gun is as inline and shoots as well as any of my LMT, Spikes, BCM rigs at a very nice price. Nice job Joe!

Mine came in on Friday, and it went together well. First, I wish I had known that the midlength identical to it was coming out for less within a couple of days of my order. I had asked about that earlier, and merely gotten the 'wait and see' response. Second, the barrel on my build is not actually FN marked, and I think it's still an FN barrel, just unexpected (possibly cool for some folks) with the Palmetto stamping... It is marked CHF 1/7 CL, which is proper.
I'm kinda ticked because by the time I save some more drill pay to order the middy like this that I originally wanted, they'll be gone, I'm sure.

I was looking for a nice middy, couldn't find one I wanted so I ordeded one of these last Thursday.

Well, the thing shoots very good with a slidefire, so I guess I can't be too disappointed. LOL...I'm impressed with the magpul forend heat resistance, and the consistaecy of everythin else in the build...bolt group, barrel, buffer, etc....I stood in one spot and dumped 150 rounds FA, and you could have caught all of my cheap plinking cases in one 5 gallon bucket. 
No accuracy testing yet, but I was able to hit bowling pins at 100 yards with 3-5 rd bursts from it and irons. Does what I bought it to do.

anyone have a proper review of this upper? I found one but the groupings they were showing weren't all that impressive. I get my upper in tomorrow and I'll be trying to either do a photo review or maybe even borrow a nice HD camera from someone and post a youtube video of it.

Edit: Just put my order in. Guess it was temporary issue. Looking forward to my new upper. Went ahead and got the MOE hand gaurds too.
