Bringing Out the Dead: Trying to revive the A2 and need help finding a standard front sight base
I like the A2 platform a lot! It works well - enough said!
Optics are nice - I've owned and sold several Eotech models (511,551, 512, 553, and XPS2), a Aimpoint ML2, and two ACOG (TA01NSN and TA01).
I'm going back to basics and putting together an A2 upper and need help finding a standard front sight base. I could use a "F" marked one but I am very hesitant.
Worried about buying one and the description being wrong- there are a lot of "F" marked front sight bases on the market and I don't want the wrong one.
Can anyone point me to a retailer that sales these.
Thanks

I'm tossing around the idea of buying a clamp on A2 FSB from Armalite for my similar build.
The only thing I don't like about the armalite A2 clamp base is there is no lug. Mostly just looks but still wish it was there.
DezArms also sells both F and non-F FSBs but they use set screws and DO have the bayo lug. I am not sure how sturdy a set screw type FSB is on a barrel that hasn't been notched/relieved for it.

I'm a big fan of the A2 myself. It performed well for me while in the Marines and it continues to be my primary choice for making brass and high speed impalement.
