M4-LEP .22 front sight question.

I'm getting a new CMMG M4-LEP dedicated .22 rifle with the quad rail set up, a receiver height gas block, it does not come with a front sight. I was thinking about using a Magpul MBUS front sight and mounting the MBUS on the gas block, will the MBUS be ok or will the gas block get to hot for the polymer sight? Thanks

The gas block isn't functional therefore it shouldn't get hot aside from barrel heat migrating... I think it would be fine in that application.

The Magpul will work just fine. As stated, no gas going through the gas block. The .22 doesn't get hot enough to matter anyhow.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm new to the AR15-.22 world, I sure am glad that I found this web site and that it has a dedicated forum for the .22's. I'm sure that I will have to pick ya'lls brains again from time to time in the future . Thanks again.
