Hey All - I am new to the 22 AR game. I just got a CMMG upper and a couple of BDM 26rd X-Form mags with the SS feed lips. I inserted the mags with the upper and found that the follower in the mags holds the bolt open. I am concerned that the bolt is going to destroy the back edge of the follower. Will the Bolt Hold Open devices from CMMG aleviate this concern?

They are bolt hold open followers. BDM mags have a Lifetime Warranty and BDM will replace your mags if they fail.

ETA: I have 10 of the Gen 2 mags from BDM and I installed Non bolt hold open followers.

They are made with that feature.

The Bolt Hold Open device from CMMG will not work with the BDM mags....

The Bolt Hold Open Follower will eliminate empty chamber dry firing when the magazine is empty and save your firing pin.

The BHO follower will also save your barrel. I ruined a DPMS AP 4 barrel because of 10 round mags and no last round hold open. Granted it took over 10 years and maybe 50,000 rounds but except for the battered end of the barrel it was OK. I swapped the barrel out for a CMMG barrel/collar and bolt which is a better design. I really like my new BDM X mags.

Thanks for the info. I took the upper out today with the 2 BDM X-Form mags and tried a bunch of different 22 rounds. The only ones that gave me trouble were Remington Target Loads, I can post the exact rounds after I look at the box, but they had trouble feeding the first round into the chamber. Maybe it was also to do with the bolt/chamber being dirty from the previous 300 rds. It shot the Fed and Win bulk packs CCIs, and some other Wins and Federals just fine.

Remington is not recommended. Very dirty and the bullet profile is slightly different from Winchester or Federal. It's common for feeding problems in AR conversions and dedicated uppers using an atchisson type bcg.
It's always best to use a copper wash round for shooting a lot of rounds. It's cleaner and will leave less fouling than uncoated lead rounds.
Winchester 555 or 333, Federal550, CCI Mini Mags, are good rounds.

Thank you. The bulk packs shot great through it and are also the cheapest to shoot.
