Geissele triggers compatible with any 9mm bolts
Does any one know if any geissele triggers are compatible with 9mm bolts? Is there any aftermarket triggers compatible, wilson combat TTU, Timney? Any help would be appreciated.
I have been running an SSA for several hundred rounds now with no issues whatsoever.
Contacted the folks at Geissele to see if they had any experience with the 9mm and they freely confessed that they did not.
They actually asked me to let them know how it was working.
Full disclosure, as I said, not a really high round count to date, and I'm running it in a 6450 that is otherwise unmodded.
I'm keeping an eye on the 'ramped bolt' issue, but it may well be that it will take a subgun or endless mag dumps to create a problem.
BTW, I'm running the Colt SS FCG pins that Hartford uses because they are reputedly stronger.

thanks for the info, i got an email back from geissele that said "We have had good reports of our trigger working in the 9mm AR's. Thank you
for your inquiry."
But what triggers work and what ones do not?
Your bolt in yours is un-ramped?
how are the model one sales kits? will the geissele SSA work with it?
katz, my rifle has the stock Colt bolt, and my trigger is an SSA. In fact, it is an SSA that I pulled out of a 15-22, and it already had 1k rounds on it.
Those 'good reports' are apparently from me, because they denied all knowledge of 9mm usage when I called them...
There are mentions of newer Colt bolts being 'ramped' from the factory, but I'm waiting on some clarification on that.

I'll be shooting my CMMG 9mm upper with my lower that has a Geissele S3G trigger in it. I'll send a report after the weekend.
I have 3 9mm's with geissele hi-speed's in them.......have to run standard UNramped RRA bolts in them. Hammer follows bolt if I do not.
Run perfect with unramped bolt. Can't live if livin' is without the geissele.
Thanks everyone for the information. Another question, does the 9mm kits from Model 1 sales come with a ramped or unramped bolt? Thats the kit im looking at gettng.

Ain't that the truth. An AR w/ standard heavy, grunchy trigger is no damn fun at all.
Interesting that you had issues
with a ramped bolt. My intention is to not fix what ain't broke.
